Dr. Khan M. G. Mostofa issued the monograph entitled “Photobiogeochemistry of Organic Matter” on Springer, part of Springer Science + Business Media. It’s a remarkable achievement for him and Prof. LIU Congqiang’s research group. The book is creatively organized to overview and summarize some vital issues, such as: DOM; H2O2 and ROOH; HO
•; Degradation of DOM; CDOM, FDOM; Photosynthesis; Chlorophyll; Metal complexation, and Global warming, as well as their mutual interrelationships, based on the latest researches.
Photoinduced process is significant for all living organisms as it produces and transfers organic matter (OM) in biosphere. Meanwhile photoinduced process also influences on many aquatic reactions and associates with photosynthesis, since the primary step produces hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) from OM, a strong reductant and oxidant. It is believed that this outstanding work will inspire and help both researchers and students who are interested in this important topic.
