On Sep. 28,  2012, the opening ceremony of the main station of Puding Observation and Research Station for Karst Ecosystem, Chines Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the “Puding Station”) was celebrated in Puding County in Guizhou Province.

In the ceremony, Prof. WANG Shijie, the Director of the Puding Station and the Deputy Director of the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGCAS), stated that the group’s joint efforts would ultimately ensure Puding Station to become one of the National Field Stations in the near future.

Established by the collaboration between IGCAS and Guizhou Provincial Science and Technology Department, the Puding Station consists of three regions: the main station area, monitoring area in Houzai River Basin, and the control-experiment-demonstration area of rocky desertification in Gaoyang River Basin.
