Recently, selected by Guizhou Provincial Committee of the CPC and Guizhou Province government, Professor FENG Xinbin at the State Key Laboratory of Environmental Geochemistry (SKLEG) was honored as one of the Key Experts of Guizhou Province, Professor WU Yanyou at SKLEG and Professor GUO Jie at the Laboratory for High Temperature and High Pressure Study of the Earth's Interior (LHTHPSEI) were honored as the Province-managed Experts of Guizhou Province, respectively.

"Key Expert of Guizhou Province": The candidates should lead nation-wide in their fields and have considerable international influence, having made international-level research achievements or recognized as domestic academic leaders by peers. Twenty one experts were honored in 2007 when this title was first established. The second selection is held this year and 13 experts are honored.

"Province-managed Expert of Guizhou Province": The candidates should lead province-wide in their fields with relatively high scientific and technological attainments, and are capable of participating in domestic competitions. The selection is held every other year. The 6th selection is held this year and 94 experts are awarded.
