Abstract: The Taihang Mountain, Yuanshi County, Hebei Province, is the primary area where debris flow always occurs. Based on the survey at the debris flow site, the formation conditions of debris flow were evaluated. Results showed that the material factor, rainfall factor, and physical features satisfied the formation conditions of debris flow in the valley. The formation conditions are sufficient.The authors analyzed and studied rainfall and its relations with the occurrence of this debris flow on the basis of previous studies.The occurrence probability of this debris flow was worked out from rainfall. A kernel experiment on the provenance of this debris flow ditch and its leftover was made.The occurrence probability of this debris flow is worked out from kernel experimentation and previous research.
