Abstract: According to the characteristics of acid condition and low fertility of yellow soils from Guizhou Province, China, the orthogonal experimental design method was used to study effects of cow manure, biochar, ground phosphorite and potassium feldspar powders on acidity and NPK values of yellow soils. Results show that the four amendments not only can efficiently improve the soil acidity, making the soils transformed from acid to neutral; but also can improve soil nutrients as well as soil fertility. Compared with original soils, available N improves about ten-fold, available P improves about 100-fold and available K improves 9-fold in mixed soils. Based on regression analysis, the functional relation between soil nutrients and amendments was also acquired.
