Abstract: Based on delayed geochemical hazard model and multi-fractal model, element speciation and total elements of heavy metals in topsoil from Puning City, Guangdong Province, China were studied. We derived that the feature of As, Cd, Pb, Cu, Ni, and Zn is consistent with the delayed geochemical hazards model. The corresponding critical value of them are 2.86, 81.48, 41.44, 10.17, 5.42 and 0.69 mg/kg, respectively. Sixty percent of total releasable content of Cu and 35 percent of total releasable content of Cd and Pb exceed the critical value. Results show that the transformation of TRCP to available form may accelerate and produce geochemical hazard. Based on high concentration continuous multifractal model, Hg and Pb are strongly influenced by human activities. The Cu has minor fractal dimension, slowing transformation of low content level to high content level, indicating that the pollution trend of Cu is strengthened. Heavy metal pollution related to dismantling household appliance may become worse.
