Abstract:Concentration of fluorine in deep groundwater in Cangzhou Area, China is high and restricts the utilization of deep groundwater. As a result, the distribution characteristics and development mechanism of fluorine in deep groundwater in Cangzhou Area were investigated in the years of 1980 and 2014 by collecting data and field sampling. The software packages including ArcGIS and Phreeqc were used to obtain the temporal-spatial distribution characteristics and to simulate hydro-geochemical process of fluorine in deep groundwater. Results show that the concentration of fluorine in deep groundwater had increased from 1980 to 2014 in Cangzhou Area. The concentration of fluorine in deep groundwater higher than 2 mg/L distributed mainly in the middle of Changzhou Area, and those distribution areas accounted for about fifty percent of the whole Changzhou Area. The hydro-geochemical process simulation results show that the dissolution of fluorite is the main reason for increasing fluorite in deep groundwater in this area.
