Abstract: This article outlined the features of karst habitats and main rocky desertification control models. A statistical analysis for main control plant species was conducted. It also briefly reviewed ecological adaptability of rocky desertification control species in terms of drought, soil quality, niche heterogeneity, terrain elevation and etc.Combined with existing research and national ecological function positioning of rocky desertificationregion in karst areas, four main research directions were proposed to strengthen in the future: (a) execellent plant species selection for rocky desertification control; (b) plant species habitat adaptability research; (c) vegetation succession research on the process of rocky desertification control; and (d) applicability research on rocky desertification control vegetation recovery models and monitoring and evaluation of rock desertification control effects.
