Abstract: With rapid economic and expressway development, the increased amount of automobiles has led to great concern with traffic-related heavy metals. This review summarizes current knowledge for traffic-related heavy metals concerning emission factors and influence factors, the concentrations and morphological changes in different roadside environmental media, bioavailability and the influence on human health. This paper provides perspective on research on traffic-related heavy metals.
