Abstract:The key research project "Deep Processes and Resource Effects of Important Yanshanian Events",from National Key Research and Development Program of China "Deep Resource Exploration and Mining",was officially launched in July 2016. This project aims to reveal the dynamic mechanism, deep processes and controlling factors related to large-scale mineralization of Yanshanian Events. The evolution history of the Pacific, the Okhotsk, and the Tethys Ocean will be explored as the starting points and main theme. The interactions of multi-plates,especially the correlation between the Pacific plate and the geological events in eastern China will be investigated. Based on previous studies, this project integrates tectonics, geophysics, sedimentary geology, geochemistry, petrology, ore deposit geology, experimental petrology and other disciplines to tackle key scientific problems. Yanshanian geologic events in west China will also be studied for comparison. This Special Issue is a brief introduction to the project, the research ideas, work models and key scientific problems to be solved.
