Abstract: The Shabaosi gold deposit, which locates in the northern segment of the Daxing'an Mountain, has entered the stage of mine construction and exploitation. This paper studied the characteristics of its ore minerals and gold-bearing minerals on the basis of detailed field geological work, microscopic identification and electron probe analyses. The results showed that, its ores are sulphide-depleted micro-fine disseminated gold ore. The major gold-bearing minerals are mainly pyrite, followed by arsenopyrite, their compositions of trace elements are complex and vary greatly. It suggested that sources of ore-formed materials are complex with obvious hydrothermalism and strong multiple superposition gold mineralization. It indicated that the Shabaosi gold deposit have a good mineralization conditions. Except Au, other elements in the deposit have no need for comprehensive utilization since they are accompanied by harmful elements and since their contents are very low. The gold occurrences are mainly inclusion gold in sulfide and inter-granular gold in gangue, the gold minerals grains are extremely fine, mainly in microscopic and submicroscopic scales.
