Abstract: The silver occurrence in Xigou lead-zinc-silver deposit were studied by a mean of electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), and the silver mineralization mechanism was discussed in this paper. The results show that Ag in the ore occurs mainly in more than three kind of Ag minerals including native silver, argentite and stromeyerite; and in lattice of freibergite,silver-bearing tetrahedrite in isomorphism. Argentite occurs in the form of microscopic inclusions in galena; Stromeyerite is in heterogranular aggregates distributing in chalcopyrite granular edge; native silver embedded in quartz vein and carbonate mineral into grained.
