Abstract: According to the characteristics of a low-grade molybdenum sulfide ore, in which molybdenite is characterized with extremely uneven grain sizes and high content of fine particles, from a deposit in Yunnan Province, the process mineralogy and recovery technology of the ore have been conducted in this paper. The stage grinding flotation beneficiation and recovery process including separation techniques of coarse grinding of ROM and regrinding of Mo rough concentrate was adopted to process raw ores by using water glass and sodium sulfide as inhibitors of gangue minerals, kerosene as collector and pine oil as frother of molybdenum. The ROM with assayed Mo grade of 0.22% was processed by using the flotation locked cycle test, and then the concentrate with assayed Mo grade of 50.12% at the recovery of 92.73% has been obtained. This floatation recovery process is reasonable with the simple and environmental protection reagent system.
