Abstract: By means of chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis and MLA mineral automatic detection technology, the occurrence characteristics of elements in the concentrate of REE-bearing phosphate ores in the Hubei area have been studied. The chemical composition, mineral composition and occurrence state of rare earth elements of the ores have also been analyzed. The results show that rare earth elements of Ce, Nd, and Sm are mainly hosted in monazite, Gd and La are totally hosted in monazite. Dy is totally hosted in apatite minerals. Pr is totally hosted in composite minerals of apatite and monazite. Y is mainly hosted in aeschynite. Monazite is a mineral hosting mostly rare earth elements. Apatite is intergrown with rare earth minerals. Monazite is sparsely disseminated in the intergranular, edge and voids of gangue minerals such as biotite, fluorite, and hematite. Most monazite grains have very complicated mosaic relationship with gangue minerals due to their very fine grain sizes.
