Abstract: The field investigation of a tin and beryllium mine in Huanggangliang area, with combined mineralogical characteristics was conducted by using optical microscope, electronic probe, LA-ICP-MS and other test methods. Cassiterite, garnet, vesuvianite and hastingsite minerals were tested and analyzed. Trace elements of ore and surrounding rock were also analyzed. Results show the occurrence of tin element in addition to independent minerals cassiterite. There is a small amount of tin in the form of isomorphism mainly exists in garnet, hastingsite, vesuvianite based minerals. It also shows that cassiterite formed in high temperature hydrothermal environment and the ore-forming source has high content of high field strength elements. Independent minerals of beryllium are not found, and beryllium element is in the form of isomorphism existing in vesuvianite, hastingsite and other minerals.
