Abstract: Xihuhechulu area is located in the north of Da Hinggan Mountains. It is covered by forest or bog under natural conservation; the geological survey in this area is not enough and no deposits have been discovered. Recent geochemical survey results show that Ag, Pb, W, As, Sb, and Bi are rich, especially in the Carboniferous Moergenhe Formation and Early Carboniferous diorite and Late Devonian quartz-diorite, but Cu, Au, and Sn are relatively depleted comprised with the crust Clarke value. Most metallogenic elements are not evenly distributed in the area, especially, Au, Ag, Mo and Bi strongly differentiate in the outcrops of the Jurassic Manketouebo Formation and Carboniferous monzonitic granite and diorite. Cu is in strong differentiation in the Devonian Daminshan Formation and Early Cretaceous granite, and Au is also in strong differentiation in the Carboniferous Moergenhe Formation and Late Devonian quartz-diorite, and very rich in some local areas. In this area, the main metallogenic elements are Au, Pb, Ag, Mo, and Cu and the associated metallogenic elements are W, As, Sb, Sn, Mn, Bi and Zn, mainly in hydrothermal and volcanic metallogenic types. According to the regional geochemical characteristics, Xinihe-Narisimaode, Dajiazishan and Yizhigou-Xiaogushan may be high metallogenic potential areas.
