Abstract: As the one of the most important Sn polymetallic resource base, Dulong Mine, being located at Maguan County, southeastern Yunnan Province, China, is characterized by huge reserves of Sn and Zn associated multiple useful elements, including In, Cu, W, Ag, etc. Our statistical results show that there is abundant exploitable ultralow grade resource except explored industrial resource in Dulong mine. In this paper, the reason why the ultralow grade resource have not been mined was analyzed, and the possibility, the key problem, and its prospective economic, social and environmental benefits of mining ultralow grade resource were discussed. The occurred prospective area of ultralow grade resource and its comprehensive utilization mode were discussed. It is suggested that the comprehensive utilization of ultralow grade resource in Dulong mine will avoid wasting resources and help the environmental protection, not only prolonging the service time of the mine, but also safeguarding the high-efficiency and sustainable development of the company.
