Abstract:Nibao gold deposit is located in the area of tuff, out the area of Emeishan basalts, which is one of important Carlin type gold deposits in southwestern Guizhou Province, China. Pyrite is major gold-bearing mineral and owns six forms of typomorphic characteristics, including bioclastic pyrite, framboidal aggregate pyrite, band framboidal pyrite, euhedral-subhedral aggregate pyrite, xenomorphic pyrite and euhedral-subhedral pyrite. The comparative study between genetic types of pyrite and gold content in whole rocks indicates that golds mainly have a connection with sedimentary type pyrite. The mineral assemblage of rutile rutile, anatase and pyrite indicate that ore-forming materials are possibly from Emeishan basalts.
