Abstract: Based on Ni/Al hydrotalcite (NiAl-LDHs), catalyst NiPc/NiAl-LDHs loaded aqueous nickel tetracarboxylphthalocyanine (NiPc) was synthesized using a coprecipitation method. Structures, morphologies and thermal properties of the phthalocyanine derivatives and catalyst were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, UV-Vis, TG-DTA and SEM. Results show that although the NiPc is introduced on NiAl-LDHs, the crystal structure and thermal stability of NiAl-LDHs are unchanged. Photocatalytic oxidation degradation of methyl orange (MO) in the NiPc/NiAl-LDHs/H2O2 system lasted for 3 hours. The residual rate of MO was 16.33 % under the the conditions of MO being 10 mg/L 25 mL, pH value of 3, and dosage of H2O2 being 50 μL. The NiPc/NiAl-LDHs/H2O2 system has good photocatalytic oxidation activity for removing MO when the pH value of MO solution is in the range of 3-7. Furthermore, the process of photocatalytic oxidation degradation of MO involves an hydroxyl radical reaction.
