Abstract: With the development of ultra-fine standard materials, ultra-fine sample has been further applied in geological analysis. In this paper, chromite standard materials were crushed into ultra-fine samples by using ultra-high-speed planetary broken prototype. Multi-elements (Cr, Si, Al, Fet, Mg, Ca, Ti, S, Co, Ni, V) in chromite were measured by wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry using powder direct compression. Variety of chromite standard materials and manual preparation of standard material were used for calibration curve. The inter-element effect was corrected by using the empirical coefficients and scattering line standard method. The results agree well with the certified values with precision of 0.24% to 2.95% RSD (n=10). This method effectively overcomes the effect of the particle size of the sample with precision and accuracy can be compared with the traditional chemical method.
