LA-ICP-MS Zircon U-Pb Geochronology and Genesis of Dark Diorite Enclaves in the Mapeng Batholith, Shihu Gold Field TEXT SIZE: A A A

Abstract: There are a lot of dark diorite enclaves that occur in the Mapeng batholith of the Shihu gold field. Studies show that: (1) Diorite dark enclaves and the Mapeng batholith have similar trace rare-earth elements characteristics. LA-ICP-MS Zircon U-Pb geochronology analysis of the dark diorite enclaves and the host rocks show both have similar ages with a small margin of error approximately 136.0±1.3 Ma. (2) Formation of dark diorite enclaves may be the result of a complex interaction between tholeiitic and granitic magma.
