Abstract:Sandu-Danzhai district is one of the most important gold-antimony-mercury (Au-Sb-Hg) metallogenic belt in Guizhou Province, China. Miaolong Au deposit is a relatively typical example that has been well studied. This paper presents a detailed review on geological characteristics of the deposit with a number of ore-forming essential factors, involving structure, stratigraphy, wall-rock, alternation and geochemical anomaly extracted from descriptions. By comparison with other similar gold deposits in the same region, a more completed database is built up. GIS technique is used to digitalize and quantify these factors. Selection and optimization of the least prediction zone lead to identification of two areas that have large mineralization potential, as well as four moderate and seven possible areas.
