Abstract: Using X-ray diffraction analysis,high power optical microscopy and mineral liberation analysis, as well as other methods, this paper presents a detailed study of process mineralogy on spodumene ore. This study was carried out to identify the material composition of the ore, the main embedded mineral features and the existing occurrence of major beneficial elements and so on.The results can be used as a basic reference for the rational exploitation of spodumene resources. Based on the characteristics of the process mineralogy of spodumene ore, adopting the technical conditions of the preflotation settlement desliming process, a new combination collector SD-5, a closed circuit testing of one stage of roughing,two stages of cleaning and three stages of scavenging for Li flotation , the grade of Li2O concentrate was 86.01% representing a gain of 6.12% Li2O recovery. The flotation results provide a technical foundation for the reform of the production process utilizing this ore.
