Abstract: Pyrochlore super-group minerals refer to general formula of A2-mB2X6-wY1-n (m=0~1.7, w=0~0.7, n= 0~1). IMA-CNMNC recently reported the classification and nomenclature of pyrochlore supergroup (Atencio et al., 2010). In this paper a new scheme of nomenclature based on the ions at A, B and Y sites is presented. This classification is based on B ions and nomination is based on Y and A ions. Pyrochlore super-group minerals are more abundant in China than other countries with their own characteristics. The composition of different particles within the same mining area has big differences, with some of the minerals containing radioactive elements with amorphous. Chemical components, X-ray diffraction, crystal structure and ion occupation are important for mineral classification.
