Abstract: Dushan antimony ore field, located between the southeastern margin of the Yangtze Platform and the South China fold belt, is an important component of the South China Metallogenic Belt of Antimony. Typical ores in this field have been well studied; however, the source of ore-forming material of the deposits has long been a matter of debate. In this study, contents of ore-forming elements including in Sb, Hg and As in the rocks of different ages and lithology in the ore field, combined with the data of ore-forming elements of regional stratigraphy were provided to discuss the source of ore-forming material of Dushan antimony ore field. The results show that the rocks of different ages and lithology in the ore field are relatively enriched in ore-forming elements. Therefore, these rocks can be regarded as the initial enrichment layer of the deposits. Moreover, the ore-forming elements were mainly sourced from the rocks of the regional strata. The main source of Dushan antimony ore field are quartzy sandstone and carbonate rocks of the Lower Devonian Danlin Formation (D2dn) and the Songjiaqiao Section in the Middle Devonian Dushan Formation (D2d2).
