Abstract: In this paper, several minerals including iron-vaesite (Ni,Fe)S2, millerite (NiS), vaesite (NiS2), sulfur nickel mine (NiNi2S4), gersdorffite (NiAsS), violarite (FeNi2S4), nicopyrite (Fe,Ni)9S8 and jordisite were detected from the black shale Ni-Mo ore from Ganziping, Zhangjiajie area, Hunan province, China, on the basis of mineralogical analysis and scanning electron microscope. This study reflects the complexity of the relations of metasomatic symbiosis of Ni-Mo minerals and pyrite and gangue minerals. It is difficult for flotation since Ni-Mo minerals is quite fine and nonuniform.
Key words: black shale; Ni-Mo mineral deposit; scanning electron microscope; technological mineralogy
