Abstract: Raw material of aluminum plant in Yunnan Province is counted on completely imports from other provinces or foreign countries. Bauxite has a low degree of exploration and development. While the aluminum oxide factory of the annually production is 800000 tons built in the Wenshan County is badly in need of bauxite raw material. Therefore there are important practical value and theoretical significance to strengthening study on bauxite exploration in Wenshan County. Bauxite deposits have been found mainly in the southeastern, western and central Yunnan Province. They were formed at the end of the Permian and the Triassic, and the Early Permian period. The deposit types and ore-forming regularities of bauxite are summed up by exploration practice and geological research in the paper. It is the basis for follow-up exploration and development in Yunnan Province.

Key words: bauxite; deposit; ore-forming; Yunnan Province
