Subject:	Present status and prospects of Thin Section Lab in the Institue of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Abstract:	The construction of The Thin Section Lab in the Institue of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences started in 2017 August and open to public since 2018 April. The lab is run by Martin von Dollen who was a sample preparation technician in University of Alberta from 2012 - 2017. The talk is going to present the status of the Thin Section Lab, including the machinery, on going methods and also future aspects based on requirement of customer and research and will also make summary on the work in 2018. He will also share his experience and knowledge about how to handling critical samples during preparation to preserve the primary features of the samples.
