Prof. LU Huanzhang of University of Quebec gave a seminar on “CO2 Fluid and Gold Mineralization” during his visit to the State Key Laboratory of Ore Deposit Geochemistry (SKLODG) on Sep.15, 2010.
Prof. LU Huanzhang is a well-known scientist in the field of ore deposit. He has obtained many remarkable achievements through his long term research on fluid inclusion geochemistry, particularly the role of CO2 in the gold mineralization.
In his seminar, Prof. LU Huanzhang described his recent 20-year studies on fluid inclusion of the gold deposit in the Southeastern Guizhou and Western Hunan. He also provided an in-depth analysis of the CO2’s role in those gold deposits and revealed that CO2 is an important "buffer" in gold mineralization. Prof. LU Huanzhang’s study results offered a significant guidance to the peer researchers on understanding gold mineralization in those regions.
The seminar attracted nearly 70 students and professors. The audience had a thorough discussion with Prof. LU Huanzhang at the end of the seminar.
